I also thought if it would be more elegant to only check the validity of the key when it changed (like the regular Akismet plugin does) and not on every view of the adminpage.

It’s only when I see the URL associated with them as some spamblog orworse that I realize why they’ve been flagged as spam. I hope you are using Akismet to automate most of that?

Today I got a comment that read like spam (Hi, how are you) but was from a Yahoo mail account, and was on a thread that had a very sarcastic comment in that same vein; did this person not get it? Is it a robot? Am I being tested for spam resistance? Who knows!
