Wired Magazine the App

wired from my ipad “that as successful as the site is, it is not a magazine” sad to read—why not do something new?

I’ve only had a couple minutes with the new Wired Magazine App. As much as I wanted to hate it, it’s actually pretty good. Overall my first impression is that it feels more like a book than magazine which is cool. Biggest issue aside from not being able to share individual articles is that I can’t zoom in on everything.

Aside from that, I was disappointed to read in the editor notes about as great as the site is, it’s not a magazine. Shouldn’t we let go of that metaphor entirely and evolve into a new category? As a first step it’s pretty good, hopefully it can get past being a glorified pdf.
